President Nicolae Timofti signed a decree to confer state awards to a group of MPs, ministers and high-ranking public servants for decisive contribution to achieving the major foreign policy goal of Moldova – the political association and economic integration with the European Union, IPN reports.

According to the presidential press service, the awards were given at the suggestion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the parties of the Pro-European Coalition.

The Order of the Republic, which is the highest state award in Moldova, was conferred on Head of Parliament Igor Corman, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman, head of the Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration Ana Gutu, Democratic MP and ex-Speaker Marian Lupu, Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici, secretary general of the President’s Staff Ion Paduraru, ex-First Deputy Speaker Vladimir Plahotniuc, and Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Strelet.

The Order of Honor was awarded to Deputy Head of Parliament Oleg Bodrug, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Andrian Candu, Liberal-Reformist MP Vadim Cojocaru, and Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi.

The Labor Glory Order was presented to the head of the Parliament’s commission on appointments and immunities Raisa Apolschii, Minister of Finance Anatol Arapu, Liberal Reformist MP Anatolie Arhire, the Government’s secretary general Victor Bodiu, Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac, the President’s adviser Vlad Turcanu, and other persons.

The Civic Merit medal was conferred on Liberal-Democratic MP Angel Agache, Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Vasile Botnari, Deputy Minister of Finance Stefan Creanga, and other persons.
