Representatives of over 50 center-right student organizations affiliated to the European People’s Party and its European Democrat Students will come together in Chisinau to take part in the International Forum “Young people create opportunities for Europe” that will be held on September 24-27. The event will also involve members of the Liberal Democratic Youth of Moldova, the PLDM says in a communiqué, quoted by IPN.

The young politicians will debate subjects related to the role of the young people in the European and regional political context. Within the forum, the Board of the EDS will hold a meeting to discuss and vote on positions concerning the implementation of the Association Agreement with Moldova, the regional security situation, especially the state of the Transnistrian conflict, the support to the EaP countries, the development of the Moldovan parliamentary system, and the education reform in Moldova.

Besides representatives of youth organizations, the event will be also attended by the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova Vlad Filat, first deputy chairman of the PLDM and Prime Minister Iurie Leanca., Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, deputy director of the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies Roland Freudenstein as well as ministers and national and foreign experts.

European Democrat Students (EDS) is a pan-European centre-right student and youth political association and the official student organization of the European People’s Party since 2012. It represents over 1,600,000 students and young people in 42 member organizations from 35 countries in Europe. The forum is organized with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies, in partnership with the Liberal Democratic Youth of Moldova.
