The Parliament’s first plenary sitting of the autumn-winter session will take place at the end of September. Speaker Andrian Candu in a press briefing said the Standing Bureau will convene next week to decide the date of the first sitting, IPN reports.
Andrian Candu said more rigorous control on the assessment of the impact of particular laws will be ensured in the new session by hearings. “I requested the commission chairpersons during the next two weeks to propose a plan of action for holding parliamentary hearings on different issues and on particular laws that are the responsibility of these commissions,” he stated.
The Speaker noted that the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU and the assessment of the initiated reforms remain the top priorities. “We will intensify the actions based on the platforms created in Parliament and undertook to create a new multi-institutional platform centering on trafficking in human beings,” said Andrian Candu.
A meeting will be held on September 18 to consider the mechanism for recovering the assets stolen from the banking system and the further cooperation with the international company Kroll.
As to the 12 laws returned by President Igor Dodon to Parliament, Andrian Candu said these will be reexamined as a matter of urgency in the first sittings.
