Parliament today voted to appoint the People’s European group leader Valeriu Ghiletchi deputy speaker after his predecessor and colleague Iurie Leanca was nominated to become deputy prime minister for European integration in the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

Ghiletchi was proposed to the post by Speaker Andrian Candu, following consultations with the parliamentary groups.

Ghiletchi was appointed by the vote of 51 MPs.

Today was Parliament’s last meeting before the winter recess.
