Moldova’s Parliament will stager the Open Doors Day on August 27, when it is celebrated the Independence Day. Such a proposal was submitted by Head of Parliament Igor Corman. The visitors will go on a tour of the renovated building of Parliament and will enter the assembly hall, the conference hall and the repaired offices. Guided by Parliament functionaries, the groups of visitors will be informed about the parliamentary work and the legislative process, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the legislature’s press service.
Under the program, the visitors will see an exhibition of archive documents and publications of Parliament and will take part in a photo session with the legislative body’s administration and the MPs attending the event. On the Open Doors Day, the visitors will be able to leave messages to the lawmakers in the Suggestions Book and to state their expectations of Parliament.
“The communication between Parliament and the people must become more intense and such events are a good occasion for the MPs to be closer to those who chose them. This February, we staged the Open Doors Day for the first time and were glad that the event held interest for the people. We want this event to become a tradition awaited by the public, which will be organized two times a year, at the beginning of each parliamentary session,” stated Igor Corman.
On the Open Doors Day in February, the Parliament Building was visited by over 2,000 people
