Parliament in September will open local information offices in Orhei, Leova and Edinet. The subject was discussed in a meeting of Head of Parliament Igor Corman and employees of the local offices, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of Parliament.
Igor Corman called on the functionaries to be open to the people and to contribute to increasing the people’s confidence in Parliament. “By these offices, Parliament wants to be closer to the people, while you must be patient with the people and offer attention to their problems. You should not forget that there should be less bureaucracy and more openness to the people so that Parliament is closer to the people and is more transparent,” he stated.
Igor Corman also urged the employees to be correct and equidistant in their work and not to treat the MPs depending on their political affiliation.
The first local information office of Parliament was opened in Comrat earlier this year. Starting with July 2016, Parliament aims to extend the network of offices at national level. The pilot project to create information offices was worked out within the UNDP Support to Parliamentary Development in Moldova Project in a move to establish enhanced interaction between MPs and civil society.
