The first sitting of the Parliament’s spring session will take place on February 25. A decision to this effect was taken by the legislature’s Standing Bureau on February 24. The lawmakers are to examine a number of issues, including the bill on the prosecution service, the package of laws on the financial-banking sector and the package of laws on integrity, IPN reports.
Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said the Bureau adopted an agenda with over 50 items that are to be examined during the next two weeks. The agenda of the February 25 sitting includes the package of law on the energy sector and amendments to the broadcasting legislation. The MPs will also come together on February 26. If need be, there will also be called extraordinary sittings.
The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said the constitution of a commission of inquiry into the case of Grigore Petrenco will also be considered by the lawmakers on February 25. The Socialists will insist on four sets of proposals in the next sittings of the legislature, including those concerning the dismissal of the chiefs of a number of state institutions, the amendment of the financial-banking legislation and the election of the head of state.
