Parliament's budget proposed at 71 million lei
Over 71 million lei from the State Budget will go to cover the expenses of the Moldovan Parliament, including salaries of the MPs, under a draft decision submitted to the legislature for consideration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Parliament's secretary Adrian Fetescu said 46 million lei are destined for the legislature's apparatus, 13 million lei are for building maintenance and 11 million lei for the Parliament's car fleet. About two-thirds of the apparatus expenses will represent salaries of the MPs and secretariat personnel.
The monthly salary of an ordinary lawmaker is 8,000 lei. Commission heads earn over 9,000 lei.
Depending on their size, each parliamentary faction will receive amounts of money for protocol purposes, like receiving delegations and making protocol presents. PCRM will have the largest protocol budget – 74,000 lei, followed by the PLDM – 57,000 lei, PDM – 26,000 lei, and PL – 21,000 lei.
Adrian Fetescu said the size of the Parliament's proposed budget is comparable to the amount spent last year, except for 1.5 million lei planned for a salary raise. If the legislature doesn't approve such a raise until October 1, this sum will be returned.
