The preliminary results of the November 30 parliamentary elections with 98.12% of the votes counted are as follows: the Party of Socialists (PSRM) – 20.77% of the ballot, the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) – 19.97%, the Party of Communists (PCRM) – 17.72%, the Democratic Party (PDM) – 15.91%, while the Liberal Party (PL) – 9.53%.
According to the formula for calculating the number of seats of MP stipulated in the Election Code, the PSRM will obtain 25 seats in the future Parliament, the PLDM – 23, the PCRM – 21, the PDM – 19, while the PL – 13, IPN reports.
The voter turnout in the legislative elections was 55.86%. The Central Election Commission has five days to total the votes and to present the final election outcome to the Constitutional Court for validation.
