The torrential rain with hail of August 18-20 caused damage in a number of districts of the country, IPN reports. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the rain destroyed 5.2 km of road in Cania village of Cantemir district and 0.3 km of road in Carpesti village of the same district.

In Congazcicul de Jos village of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, 7 hectares of orchards were affected, while in Vulcanesti  town 23 hectares of vineyards were damaged. In Chiscareni village of Sangerei districts, the rain destroyed 1.2 hectares of vineyards and slates on the roofs of three houses.

The local commissions for emergencies continue to gauge the extent of the done damage.
