The Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” considers itself as an alternative to the current political class “There appeared a political force that can be called the successor of the failed parties that assumed responsibility for Moldova’s integration into the European Union and practically exploited this idea for personal enrichment,” the party’s deputy head Stanislav Pavlovschi said in a news conference at IPN.
According to members of the party, the country faces an unprecedented crisis. “The economy is seriously affected by three scourges: monopoly, underground economy and corruption, which intercross in multiple schemes. We are close to an economic collapse. The situation in the pension system is catastrophic as a pensioner is maintained by a salary-earner at a time when the ratio should be three salary-earners to one pensioner,” said the party’s deputy head Alexandru Slusari.
In a statement, members of the party expressed their support for President Nicolae Timofti’s decision to nominate Ion Sturza as a candidate for premiership. “Even as a designated candidate, Ion Sturza can show the real chance that the Republic of Moldova has with a competent, professional and upright governmental team that will enjoy the support of the development partners and foreign investors so as to take the state out of the captivity of the mafia clan,” said the party’s chairman Andrei Nastase.
Asked to comment on Maia Sandu’s decision to enter politics, the members of the party welcomed her intentions and expressed interest in having discussions with her, which could help identify joint actions for freeing the state from captivity. As to the return of the Democratic heavyweight Vlad Plahotniuc to politics, these said the competent bodies should investigate this case. “A congress should have been held to decide Plahotniuc’s return to the post of first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party,” stated Slusari.
In another development, members of the party announced that they will submit the statutes modified after the December 13 congress, where the People’s Force Party was renamed the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and Andrei Nastase was elected as its chairman, to the Ministry of Justice on December 23.
