Pavel Ciobanu, ashamed of shortage of toilets

“If we acted only according to law, we could remain with about three football teams,” president of the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) Pavel Ciobanu said when asked by journalists what measures the FMF is applying in order to civilize the conditions in which matches are held. Pavel Ciobanu held a news conference after the reunion of the executive board of the FMF, which took place on Monday, May 25, on the occasion of finishing the 2008-2009 football season, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Do understand that it is hard for us, too, and we are ashamed of this.” Pavel Ciobanu showed he knew the fact that there are no announcers at some stadiums. “We ask for, but so our culture is. We have no professional football. There has been a team in the National Division up to now which had no toilet in dressing rooms. That is what we are talking about in the 21st century,” the FMF president said. He also said he would not attend the Moldova-Georgia friendly planned for June 5-6 in Tbilisi, because the federation had money to buy tickets only for two teams and for the technical assistants. The FMF analyzes the proposal of the Belarus partners to organize a reunion between the national teams on June 10 in Minsk. The FMF will make a decision on the number of teams that will play next season in the National Division. “I certainly want to be 16, but we shall select between 12 and 8,” the president said. The next season will begin on July 5, and the FMF will deal with licensing trainers till then.
