PCRM does not recognize March 16 elections and their outcome
The Communist Party (PCRM) does not recognize the March 16 presidential elections and their results and calls on the people to show disobedience to the regime, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the party’s Central Committee.
“Using the services of three traitors, the illegitimate Parliament elected an illegitimate head of state, invoking the system crisis in Moldova. The last chance of overcoming the political, economic and social crisis was missed. The dissolution of Parliament and holding of early legislative elections were the only constitutional ways for unlocking the crisis, but they were removed by the government, which on March 16 transformed Moldova into a police, oligarchic and anti-European state,” reads the press statement.
According to the PCRM, March 16 can be considered a turning day for the common resistance to the current regime as never before did dozens of thousand people come to the Great National Assembly Square on the election day to protest. “The lawmakers of the alliance were protected by special police detachments and street bandits who defied the democratic norm that guarantees the secret of the expressed will and showed they are a criminal group rather than promoters of people’s interests,” says the statement.
Nicolae Timofti was elected President by the votes of 62 lawmakers of the 101. The Communist MPs did not take part in the elections.
