PCRM, PLDM planned a secret agreement, PDM leader
The chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said the Liberal-Democrats and the Communists intended to sign a secret agreement of cooperation, but didn’t have time to negotiate it. That’s why they boycotted the January 22 sitting of the legislature.
“The Liberal-Democrats’ position coincided with the position of the Communists. I saw yesterday’s statements of the Communists and the Liberal-Democrats whereby they sought the dismissal of the First Deputy Speaker. A protest was staged on this theme too. There are too many coincidences for this to be a simple happening,” stated Marian Lupu.
He also said he does not believe that his decision to call an extraordinary sitting the next day after the Communist faction submitted an application surprised the PLDM or the PCRM. “They didn’t have time to conclude a secret agreement. They didn’t want the meeting to take place today. They already didn’t mention the prosecutor, the reforms. The goal of this campaign became clear. They want the First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc to be dismissed,” said Marian Lupu.
According to him, the PCRM requested the Liberal-Democrats to pay for another agreement, but when the PLDM refused to take part in the Parliament’s sitting, the Communists became angry. “The PCRM wants the debts to be paid, while the PLDM is not ready to pay tribute. I see lack of dignity in my colleagues from the PLDM. They can solve the problem of the dismissal of the First Deputy Speaker only by dismissing the Speaker. We will not yield to the blackmail of the colleagues from the alliance,” said Marian Lupu.
The Liberal-Democratic MPs refused to take part in the January 22 extraordinary sitting of Parliament, arguing that it was convened with deviations from the legislation. The Communist lawmakers left the assembly hall, arguing that the sitting was illegal.
