The PCRM’s candidate for mayor general of Chisinau municipality Igor Dodon announced he will request the court to annul the election results at a series of polling places. According to him, the PCRM’s team has sufficient examples of violations committed on the election day, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We collected evidence showing that serious irregularities were committed in a number of polling places in Chisinau and its suburbs. Our jurists are examining the proofs and will submit them to court to demand that rerun elections are held in these electoral districts,” said Igor Dodon.
He also said that massive falsifications were witnessed mainly in the suburban settlements. “Over 17% of the ballots cast at a polling place in Durlesti town are invalid. In some of the settlements, including Colonita, the polling place worked for several hours longer. We have evidence that a large number of temporary residence visas were issued to persons for being able to vote on June 5,” said the PCRM’s candidate.
Igor Dodon is sure of his victory. “The PCRM’s team scored a victory that will be reconfirmed either by court decision or in the second round of voting,” he stated.
With 100% of the votes counted, Igor Dodon polled 48.07% of the vote, while Dorin Chirtoaca – 46.51%.
