The Communists Party (PCRM) will make the announcements concerning the candidate for Deputy Speaker and the party’s status in Parliament in the January 11 extraordinary session of the legislative body. Communist lawmaker Igor Dodon has told Info-Prim Neo that the Communist parliamentary group has not yet decided who to propose for the post of Deputy Head of Parliament, but a decision will be taken until the legislature’s session. On December 30, the newly formed government coalition elected Democrat MP Vladimir Plahotniuc as First Deputy Speaker and Liberal-Democrat lawmaker Liliana Palihovici as Deputy Speaker. The other seat of Deputy Speaker was offered to the PCRM. The members of the Communist group asked for a break until January 17 in order to reach a decision.
