PDM accepts to negotiate with PCRM at party level
The Democratic Party (PDM) agrees to hold party-level negotiations with the Communist Party. After the October 5 meeting of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau, the party’s chairman Marian Lupu said that the talks should start as soon as possible, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“A solution for electing the head of state must be identified because it is the key to the political crisis. In order to demonstrate by a personal example, I stated that I’m ready to concede the status of candidate for the presidency so as to overcome the political crisis. I think my messages were rather clear for opening such a dialogue,” said Marian Lupu.
As to the October 4 meeting between the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat and the head of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin, Marian Lupu said that the alliance partners haven’t been informed about it. “We received no signal from the PLDM that it intended to inform the alliance colleagues about the content of those discussions,” he stated.
The Alliance for European Integration invited the Communist Party to a dialogue aimed at finding a solution for electing the head of state. Vladimir Voronin said they will negotiate with every parliamentary party separately, not with the entire alliance.
