The Democratic Party will politically support the Ministry of Justice’s inspection bodies reformation concept, MP Sergiu Sarbu, who is the secretary of the PDM’s parliamentary group, stated after the traditional meeting of the party’s administration, IPN reports.
“The legislative proposal for which our political support was requested is aimed at freeing the business sector from the pressure exerted by the law enforcement bodies and at enhancing the mechanism of protection against excessive inspections and abusive searches, which make economic activity impossible,” stated Sergiu Sarbu.
The proposal provides that in the case of economic offenses, emphasis will be put on the reparation of damage, correction of mistakes and their prevention in the future. An act will be considered penal only after all the remedying mechanisms are used up or if it is so serious that it represents an imminent risk to public order, security and safety of persons, environment etc.
Sergiu Sarbu added that the proposal is based mainly on observations about abuses committed in the sector during many years, which were transmitted by the business community.
