The leader of the people's movement “Anti-mafia” Sergiu Mocanu calls on the Moldovans to be vigilant and defend themselves from masked persons who enter their homes with everything on hand. Sergiu Mocanu told a news conference that a real armed attack was committed on April 11 in the home of Victor Busuioc from Tudora, Stefan Voda, who is running for mayor of the village. The next day, officers of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC) presented their own version of this case. They said they acted legally and warned Victor Busuioc, but the situation was different, said Sergiu Mocanu. According to the leader of the “Anti-mafia” movement, more than 60 bullets were shot in the house of Victor Busuioc from three firearms – a Kalasnikov AK 74 gun, a Beretta pistol and a Glock pistol. The Beretta pistol belongs to the owner of the house, who fired three bullets when trying to protect himself from the masked attackers. The other 20 bullets were shot from the Glock pistol, which is not owned by the CCCEC. Dumitru Stoica, who was injured in that clash, admitted that it was his gun. Sergiu Mocanu also said that a hand-made bayonet was found at the scene. It belonged to the injured officer. “These facts and the fact that more than 30 bullets were fired from the Kalashnikov gun make us think that the officers were not on official mission,” he stated, adding that Victor Busuioc's son Alexandru is still under arrest though there are no direct proofs that he was involved in smuggling. Sergiu Mocanu stated that such attacks were made on other persons as well, but this case became known only because an officer was hurt. He said that for many years Victor Busuioc has been in conflict with a former head of the Tudoras custom office, who is now the Democratic Party's candidate for mayor in Tudora. “I know that several days before the attack on Busuioc's house, the former head of the customs office had a meeting with leaders of the Democratic Party. We ca presume that attack was staged by order,” said Sergiu Mocanu. According to the CCCEC, on April 11 the Center's officers were involved in an operation aimed at arresting persons suspected of smuggling. The owner of the house opened fire. The injured officer was taken to the hospital in a serious condition and underwent surgery.
