The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) said it opened a criminal investigation into the broadcasting of wiretaps of telephone conversations between Ilan Shor and Vladimir Filat and into Renato Usatyi’s assertions about the tapping of the phones of politicians and functionaries, IPN reports.

The investigation into this case of violation of the right to privacy of correspondence will be carried out by the Organized and Exceptional Crimes Division of the PGO.

The prosecutors are to determine the circumstances in which the given conversations were recorded and broadcast and other possible illegalities related to this case.
