PL regrets PLDM’s decision to form coalition with PCRM in Straseni
The PLDM’s decision to make an alliance with the PCRM in Straseni is regrettable, especially because the PL and PLDM agreed to elect a Liberal-Democratic district head, Straseni Liberal councilor Lilian Carp told a news conference on July 19, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Lilian Carp, the PLDM pleaded for the formation of a wide coalition involving the PCRM, but the PL refused. The Liberal-Democrats made an alliance with the PCRM, even if the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu stated on a radio station that the PL is ready to vote for a Liberal-Democratic head of Straseni district.
In another news conference, the vice president of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet said the Liberal-Democrats observed the principle of forming local alliances between the parties of the Alliance for European Integration. “The PLDM voted for Communists in none of the 26 districts where the ruling alliance has a majority of seats of councilor,” he stated.
He also said that it were the Communists in fact who voted in Liberal-Democrats as district heads.
Petru Volosciuc representing the PLDM was elected head of Straseni district on July 18. He gained the votes of the councilors of the PLDM, PRCM and the Third Force.
