The Lib-Dems invite the Democratic parliamentary group to discussions to identify another candidate for Prime Minister. The Political Bureau of the Liberal Democratic Party analyzed the situation after President Nicolae Timofti rejected the candidacy of the first deputy head of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc for premiership and requested fielding another candidate, IPN reports.
Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Giletski said that it was decided to contact the Democrats and to tell them that the fielding of another candidate, who would not be challenged, can be a solution. “We think there should be proposed another candidate, who would be more credible and who would be supported by a majority of MPs,” stated the lawmaker.
Valeriu Giletski said six of the seven Liberal-Democratic MPs who announced their support for the majority withdrew it. “We are not sure about the position of Stefan Creanga,” he noted.
President Nicolae Timofti requested that the MPs who declared their support for Vlad Plahotniuc should confirm their signatures by 9pm, on January 14.
