PLDM merges with AMN

The merger agreement between the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) and the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) was signed on March 22. It will be confirmed by decisions of the congresses of the two parties that will take place early in April, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We are to professionally organize the congresses of the two parties so that we are then able to achieve the joint objectives, including the implementation of democratic reforms in Moldova and ensuring of welfare,” the president of the PLDM Vlad Filat said during the signing of the merger agreement. According to Vlad Filat, this year’s local elections are an important exercise for the united team as they aim to achieve a result that would ensure broad participation in governance at the local level. “Strengthening of the democratic forces is a necessity for Moldova. In the meeting of the AMN Council, the merger with the PLDM was approved by the vote of 81 persons of those attending, by 10 votes more than in the previous meeting,” said Serafim Urecheanu, the leader of the AMN. The Congress of the AMN will take place on April 9, while the Congress of the PLDM on April 10. The merger agreement is to be confirmed by decisions that will be approved by the congresses of the two parties.
