PLDM remains without lawmaker
The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group remained without an MP. The legislative body Friday adopted a decision whereby it accepted the resignation of the Liberal-Democrat Iurie Toma. He renounced the seat of MP so as to be able to keep the post of head of Ungheni district. The two positions are incompatible, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Iurie Toma will be replaced by the next substitute candidate on the PLDM’s list compiled for the November 28 legislative elections. This is Gheorghe Focsa, who heads the Leova Local Organization of the PLDM.
The Central Election Commission must file an application to the Constitutional Court, asking that it validate the seat of the substitute candidate, said the head of the Parliament’s legal commission on appointments and immunities Victor Popa.
The seat of MP of Iurie Toma was validated by the Constitutional Court on October 28.
