PLDM suggests equaling procedure for dismissing two members of Parliament presidium
The PLDM by the end of January 22 will register a draft legislative initiative that provides for equaling the procedure for dismissing a Deputy Speaker with the procedure for dismissing the Speaker, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the PLDM.
In a press beefing, PLDM deputy chairman and leader of the Liberal-Democratic faction Valeriu Strelet said this will create conditions for dismissing a Deputy Speaker and will help avoid ridiculous scenarios for dismissing the Speaker.
He also said that he is bewildered by the large number of suppositions and direct accusations against the party that were caused by such a technical issue as the faction’s decision not to take part in the January 22 extraordinary session.
Valeriu Strelet called on the partners from the AEI to stay calm, not to waste energy on inventing different apocalyptic scenarios and to concentrate their efforts on fulfilling their duties
Under the Parliament’s Regulations, the dismissal of the Speaker can be asked by the faction that proposed him or by 1/3 of the MPs. The decision to dismiss the Head of Parliament is taken by the secret votes of 2/3 of the MPs.
The First Deputy Speaker can be discharged at the suggestion of the Head of Parliament, by a majority of votes of MP.
