PLDM will not accept compromises that run counter to people’s will, Valeriu Strelet

The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will not accept compromises that run counter to the democratic principles and the people’s will, the party’s vice president Valeriu Strelet, the leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group, told a news conference on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valeriu Strelet said the insistence of the colleagues from the ruling alliance to neglect the opinion of the voters and impose decisions that are against the people’s will in districts was the real reason why the formation of local democratic alliance was postponed. “The PDM used this campaign aimed at denigrating the PLDM as a shield behind which it promoted its own party interests,” the MP said in reaction to the Democratic Party’s communiqué, where the Liberal-Democrats are accused of making an alliance with the PCRM in Briceni. Valeriu Strelet reiterated the PLDM’s position that local post-electoral alliances should be based on the votes cast by the people. The PDM today has accused the PLDM of hypocrisy when it proposed that the leaders of the ruling alliance should sign an agreement on the formation of local alliances.
