PM Filip gives instructions following labor accident in Russia

Prime Minister Pavel Filip instructed relevant authorities to provide all the support needed to the four Moldovan workers injured at a building site in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

In particular, the Emergencies Inspectorate will work with the Moldova Railways to bring them home.

The Government press service said the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection will be in permanent contact with doctors in Petersburg and monitor their treatment. The Health Ministry will also ensure that the injured workers get adequate medical care and supervision during their transportation to Moldova.

Additionally, Prime Minister Filip instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to send a Moldovan Embassy representative right away to the Russian hospitals where our co-nationals are being treated for their injuries.

Four Moldovan workers were injured after scaffolding collapsed at a building site in Russia. Other foreign workers were hurt too, and one died in the accident. Moldovan MFA sources told IPN the Moldovans’ condition was stable and their lives were not at risk.
