PNL suggests creating European bloc for November elections

The Central Standing Bureau of the National Liberal Party (PNL) decided to propose the pro-European, parliamentary and extraparliamentary parties to create a European bloc by the model of the Democratic Moldova Bloc of 2005 so as to prevent the votes for the pro-European entities from being dispersed and the pro-Russian political forces supported from outside from coming to power. The decision was taken in the July 21 meeting of the PNL’s Central Standing Bureau, which centered on the preparations for the November 2014 elections, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the party, the risk of the pro-Russian forces returning to power persists. A large part of the population is profoundly disappointed by the non-implementation of reforms, the non-functionality of public institutions, the national injustice and by the high level of corruption that paralyzed the state bodies.

The Central Standing Bureau will continue the discussions and will invite persons with recognized professional and civic reputation, who share the unionist beliefs, to run on the PNL’s list of candidates. The list will also include young people, women and representatives of all the local organizations of the PNL, who consider the promotion of unionism and the elimination of the taboo related to this subject in the public area as immutable.

The communiqué says the PNL pleads for differentiating between the authentic European forces and the false European and pro-Russian forces. This will be possible by uniting the pro-EU entities so as to win the elections and to stop blaming the extraparliamentary political opponents for bringing the Communists back to power.
