One of the two detainees who escaped from the police escort car on March 29 was arrested, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the press service of the Ministry of the Interior, the man aged 31 was caught on the bank of the Nistru River in Criuleni district on March 31 in the evening. The police were informed that the fugitive intended to cross the river in order to hide in the Transnistrian region. The hunt is on for the second escaped convict. The two prisoners escaped when they were taken to the Botanica Court of Appeals. They broke the lock of the bars when the car got stuck in a traffic jam near the Chisinau Oncological Hospital. An internal inquiry was launched to establish how the prisoners escaped. The police officers who escorted the convicts face disciplinary punishment.
