Polish Sejm Marshal expected to Chisinau

The Marshal of the Polish Sejm Grzegorz Schetyna will pay an official visit to Moldova on July 25. He will be accompanied by a parliamentary delegation consisting of Deputy Marshal Ewa Kierzkowska and a group of Polish lawmakers and senators, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the Parliament of Moldova says the aim of the visit is to institute the Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova and Poland, which will be a consultative parliamentary body that will formulate common stances on the problems and projects of bilateral interest. The Parliamentary Assembly will consist of ten Polish lawmakers (seven MPs and three senators of different parliamentary groups) and ten Moldovan MPs. The nominal composition of the Moldovan delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly was agreed on July 8. All the parliamentary groups will be represented in the assembly. The Moldovan delegation will be headed by Igor Corman, chairman of the commission on foreign policy and European integration, while the Polish one – by Andrzej Halicki, chairman of the foreign policy commission of the Sejm. Head of Parliament and Acting President of Moldova Marian Lupu and the Polish Sejm Marshal Grzegorz Schetyna will have a bilateral meeting and will then give a news conference. The same day, Grzegorz Schetyna will meet with Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
