Post of BCC member falls vacant
The Parliament declared a post of member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) vacant. A candidate will start to be selected in a month, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The BCC member Ruslan Plesca vacated the post after he was convicted. Within a month, the commission for culture, education, research, youth, sport and mass media and the commission for appointments and immunities will begin selecting a new member of the Council. The candidate is to be confirmed by Parliament.
Ruslan Plesca was found guilty of taking bribe by the Penal Board of the Supreme Court of Justice. He was arrested in the summer of 2007 for asking €60,000 bribe from the head of a broadcaster. He was then released on bail.
