The Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) will take part in the campaign preceding the November 30 parliamentary elections. In a news conference on August 5, the party’s head Victor Ciobanu announced that Iurie Rosca, who is a member of the National Bureau of the PPCD, will top the party’s list of election candidates, IPN reports.
The former leader of the PPCD said that things didn’t change much since the government coalition was formed five years ago and Moldova witnessed a number of illegalities. Iurie Rosca noted that Moldova is a too small country to be involved in conflicts of interest like Russia and the European Union. According to him, Moldova can find efficient alternative solutions to survive in its own resources and by developing the economy.
Iurie Rosca stated that one of the party’s objectives is to establish a sincere and intense dialogue with Transnistria and the Russian Federation. “The events in Ukraine can serve as an example for Moldova. The interruption of the economic relations with Russia will only affect Moldova. As to sanctions, Moldova should avoid such words when making statements. We cannot sanction Russia by stopping the import and export of goods,” he said.
