The Premier designate Valeriu Strelet, of the Liberal-Democratic Party, asked Parliament to give a vote of confidence to the new Cabinet. He said in Parliament that the new governmental team possesses team spirit that will be above the narrow party interests and by which political competition will be replaced by competition for output and performance, IPN reports.
The posts of Deputy Prime Minister will be held by Minister of Economy Stephane Cristophe Bride and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman, while Victor Osipov and Gheorghe Brega will serve as Deputy Prime Ministers for Reintegration and, respectively, for Social Matters.
The Liberal Democratic Party, which holds six ministerial portfolios according to the AEI agreement, kept four of the previous ministers, namely Minister of the Interior Oleg Balan, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ion Sula, Minister of Finance Anatol Arapu, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman. Acting Deputy Minister of Education Loretta Handrabura was proposed for Minister of Youth and Sport, while Mircea Buga is transferred from the post of Minister of Health to that of Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family.
The Democratic Party, which will also manage six ministries, kept Pavel Filip as Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Monica Babuc as Minister of Culture, Vasile Batca as Minister of Regional Development and Construction and Stephane Cristophe Bride as Minister of Economy. The current director of Moldova’s Railways Vladimir Cebotari was fielded for the post of Minister of Justice, while acting Minister of Labor Ruxanda Glavan – for the post of Minister of Health.
The Liberal Party proposed MP Anatol Salaru for Minister of Defense, MP Corina Fusu for Minister of Education, MP Valeriu Munteanu for Minister of the Environment and MP Iurie Chirinciuc for Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure.
If the new Government gains the necessary number of votes, it will take up after it is sworn in before the head of state.
