Premier gives condolences over Alma-Ata plane accident
Prime Minister Vlad Filat sent a letter of condolence to his Kazakh counterpart Serik Ahmetov over the January 29 plane accident near Alma-Ata, which claimed 21 lives, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
“The tragedy caused feelings of great sadness in the hearts of the Moldovan people. In these sad moments, I express my sympathy for the Kazak people and ask you to offer my sincere condolences to the relatives and close people of the victims of this tragic accident,” it is said in the message.
According to the foreign press, the plane was flying from Kokshetau to Alma-Ata when it disappeared from the radar. Supposedly, the plane crashed when it was landing because of fog. There were six members of the crew and 15 passengers, one of whom a child, on board. Nobody survived. Another serious plane accident happened in eastern Kazakhstan at the end of last December. The 27 people aboard, including a high-ranking official of the Home Ministry, died.
