Presentation of report on April 7 events postponed
The final report of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the April 2009 events will probably not be made public this week. As the quorum is not be present, the sittings of the Parliament on Thursday and Friday may not take place. Many of the members of the Alliance for European Integration went abroad as part of official delegations, while the Communist parliamentary group does not attend the sittings, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The commission's chairman Vitalie Nagachevski said the report is ready and is to be registered with the Parliament's Standing Bureau. The Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu is to decide when the Standing Bureau will be convoked. Nagachevski said the lawmakers might not come together this week as a delegation composed of six MPs is taking part in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Saint-Petersbourg, while another member of the government coalition is attending the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Sergiu Vladica, of the Parliament's press service, confirmed that the legislative body will not hold a sitting on Thursday, while on Friday it is not yet known.
