President Igor Dodon noted three scenarios are possible in the immediate period. These were disused by him with resident ambassadors in a meeting on June 10, IPN reports.
When making statements for the press after the meeting, President Dodon said one of the scenarios, which is the best one for Moldova, is the initiation of legal activity in all the state institutions and the peaceful transfer of power to the new Government led by Maia Sandu. “The probability of this scenario is high and I’m sure this scenario will be implemented. It depends on the position of our foreign partners and on our common decision at internal level,” he stated.
The President said that under the second scenario, the Democratic Party will insist on snap parliamentary elections on September 6. “I think this scenario does not have chances of being successful and we will do our best for this not to come true,” stated Igor Dodon.
The third scenario is complete destabilization caused by the Democratic Party that will try to keep power including by bloodshed. “The information I possess makes me believe this party will follow the third scenario,” noted President Dodon.
He said the Democratic Party has a problem with the legitimate President and thus wants to get rid of him. The PDM’s first variant is to arrest him, the second is to blackmail his family so as to make them flee the country, while the third is to eliminate him.
According to Igor Dodon, the meeting involved 30 heads of mission and representatives of international organizations working in Moldova.
