Presidential Office refutes authenticity of alleged SIS note disseminated by media

The Presidential Office of the Republic of Moldova denies having received a note of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) referring to acting minister of the interior Oleg Balan and the head of the General Police Inspectorate of the Ministry of the Interior Gheorghe Cavcaliuc or information similar to the content of the text disseminated by the media, IPN reports.

The Presidential Office reacted after the Political Party “Our Party” issued a press release saying that its leader Renato Usatyi published a note-report of the SIS director Mihai Balan addressed to President Nicolae Timofti. “The document was registered by the President’s staff according to the procedures and this fact is confirmed by the presence of a stamp and of the registration number,” it is said in the press release.

According to the text published by Usatyi, the SIS informs the head of state about the detection of a real criminal network that works inside the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior.
