The early legislative elections are now not the best solution as, if the rules of the system are not changed, an improvement of the situation cannot be obtained, said Social Democratic Party (PSD), quoted by IPN.
“We need to amend the system and its rules so that after the next parliamentary elections we could speak about a real change in the functioning of the state institutions. The absence of such a change will further stimulate the protest movement and this can have serious consequences,” the party says in a press release.
The PSD considers the plan of action of the future government coalition, which will represent the essence of the working program of the future Government, must focus on the fight against corruption and the social protection of the people. “For these principles to be put into practice, the people should unite, regardless of their views and political orientation, the spoken language and ethnicity,” it is said in the communique.
To fight corruption, the party suggests introducing the personal responsibility of each MP and member of the Government, testing the professional integrity of all the candidates for public posts, passing a law that would allow to immediate take legal action against and to class all the persons holding public posts whose property is larger than the legal incomes as ‘suspects’ and/or ‘accused’, amending the Penal Code and making penalties for tax evasion harsher.
To ensure social protection, the PSD proposes fully guaranteeing the people’s bank deposits, adopting the law on the guaranteeing and ensuring of the subsistence minimum, modifying the duties of the National Agency for Energy Regulation so that the tariffs are approved in accordance with the principles of the market economy, and making the Government socially responsible towards consumers.
