The Party of Socialists (PSRM) condemns the Statement on the withdrawal of the Russian troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova that was adopted by Parliament on July 21. The party issued a statement saying the parliamentary alliance led by the Democratic Party adopted the given position under the pressure of the foreign partners, IPN reports.
The PRSM says in the absence of visible results in the work of the Government and the parliamentary alliance to solve problems and ensure social guarantees for the population, the worsening of the situation in the region, political games and anti-Russian rhetoric are the only solutions for self-conserving the power. “All these actions pursue one goal - to worsen the relations with one of the most important strategic partners of Moldova,” says the statement.
The party notes that the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation have significantly improved during the past six months. The problems of Moldovan migrants in Russia and of Moldova’s exports to Russia are being solved in difficult conditions. “All these results are in danger owing to the challenges staged by the authorities. We are convinced that this is not only the position of the parliamentary alliance, but is also a geopolitical line imposed by the foreign partners of this government,” reads the statement.
The Parliament on July 21 adopted a Statement on the withdrawal of the Russian troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova by 61 votes. The Statement was signed by the MPs of the PDM, PPEM, PLDM and PL. The legislative body calls on the Russian Federation to complete the withdrawal of the troops and munitions from Moldova’s territory in accordance with the international law principles. It also calls upon the Government and the President to encourage by all ways possible the adoption of a resolution on the withdrawal of the illegal military forces from Moldova’s territory by the UN General Assembly.
