The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) calls on the supporters to prepare for general mobilization. In a press statement, the party pleads against a new attempt by the ruling alliance to capture absolute power and to suspend the President of the Republic of Moldova elected by the people through the Constitutional Court that is in the government’s pocket, IPN reports.
“In the current conditions of manipulation and provocation by the illegal government and of abusive interpretation of the Constitution, only the clear and firm position of the Head of State can protect the interests of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and the whole state. The PSRM supports the firm and justified position of the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon to oppose the appointment of discredited candidates to the highest state posts and the promulgation of anti-national laws,” reads the Socialists’ statement.
The PSRM specifies that in the first plenary sittings of the spring-summer session of Parliament, the Socialist MPs will suggest introducing a no-confidence motion. The party condemns the attack by the illegitimate government on the freedom of information of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, saying these actions run counter to national and international documents on human rights.
According to the PSRM, the recent actions by the ruling alliance confirmed once again the correctness of the position of the Party of Socialists, which insists that the institution of the presidential form of government is the only method for the President elected by the people to satisfy the wish of the citizens who elected him. “The PSRM calls on all its supporters, the patriotic forces of the country that support President Igor Dodon in his efforts to institute real democratic governance in the country, to be fully ready to react to the President’s call and to come en masse to Chisinau to free the country from this regime,” said the party.
The ministers designate were sworn in on January 10. These are: Cristina Lesnic, Chiril Gaburici, Svetlana Cebotari, Liviu Volconovici, Tudor Ulianovschi, Alexandru Tanase, and Iurie Leanca, with the latter occupying the newly instituted post of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
