“Ravnopravie” holds seventh congress

A working commission is to think up the new statutes and program of the Social-Political Movement “Ravnopravie” (“Equality of Rights”) and the party’s new symbols and name. A decision to this effect was taken in the seventh congress of the party on September 25. The congress also approved the new composition of the Movement’s Political Council and of the audit commission, IPN reports.

In a press release, “Ravnopravie” says the congress was chaired by the Movement’s president of honor Valery Klimenko and the party’s candidate for President Inna Popenko.

“Ravnopravie” chairman Ilan Shor, who is under house arrest, transmitted through his lawyers a message to the congress participants. The mayor of Orhei noted that the party’s key goal is to improve the people’s living standards, in the same way as it is done in Orhei.

In her address to the congress, Inna Popenko, who works as a doctor in Orhei, said the participation by “Ravnopravie” in the election campaign is not only a formality. “We set concrete goals. We want to show that it is now the time of changes in Moldova. I refer to the change of the so-called political elites, changes in the mentality and, surely, changes in the daily life,” she stated.

The congress adopted a series of decisions designed to reform the Social-Political Movement “Ravnopravie”.
