““The preparations for the Congress of the Democratic Party (PDM) entered the stage of debates within the main teams of the party. The democratic process needed for a serious reform in the party is taking place within the conferences of the local organizations that are now held all over the country and that choose the delegates to the Congress,” the party’s deputy chairman Vlad Plahotniuc stated for Info-Prim Neo. ”The reform proposed by the group I head is a complex one and specifies the political doctrine of the Democratic Party. It centers on the modernization of the organizational structure, the updating of the statutory provisions and other aspects,” said Vlad Plahotniuc. He stressed that the PDM will adopt a more trenchant position on the current situation in Moldova, but will also present the party’s own views on the country’s development prospects through the documents that will be approved in the Congress. In parallel with the group that works on the internal reform, another group will deal with the organization of the Congress. The proposals for reforming the PDM are ready and are now intensely debated in the party. There are prepared final decisions for the June 16 Congress. “The activism of my colleagues who put forward suggestions for improving the quality gladdens me. This will contribute to making the Democratic Party the most solid political force in Moldova,” said Vlad Plahotniuc. In the last municipal conference of the PDM, the party’s leader Marian Lupu announced that the party will be reformed and a Congress will be convened. The PDM’s National Political Council adopted the related decisions and empowered Vlad Plahotniuc to manage the group for the drafting of the reform.
