Renato Usatyi takes steps towards snap parliamentary elections

The initiative group for collecting signatures in order to organize a consultative referendum on the holding of snap parliamentary elections, led by Renato Usatyi, submitted the documents for registration to the Central Election Commission. The latter has 15 days to decide whether to register the group or reject the registration application, IPN reports.

According to the leader of Our Party Renato Usatyi, the registration of the initiative group will enable its members to go all over the country and collect signatures for organizing the consultative referendum, where citizens will be asked whether or not they want snap parliamentary elections to take place.

The politician voiced hope that the government  will not place any obstacles and considers that there is no reason not to register the initiative group. “It is important for us to receive the lists, to go through the country, to discuss with citizens,” said Renato Usatyi.

Once the initiative group is registered, it will be issued with subscription lists. The group is to collect and submit a minimum of 100,000 valid signatures. The minimum period for collecting signatures is two months, while the maximum is three months.
