Romanian and Moldovan parliamentary secretariats sign cooperation agreement

The Secretariat of the Moldovan Parliament and the General Secretariat of the Romanian Parliament will cooperate according to a common plan of actions signed on Thursday, June 30, in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. General Secretary of the Moldovan Parliament Adrian Fetescu said that the cooperation will focus on the organization of the legislative process, sharing experience of adjusting national legislation to the EU acquis, developing documents of strategic planning, the management of information and internet networks, etc. “The document stipulates a series of activities, including work visits and internships at the Romanian Senate and Chamber of Deputies for employees of the Secretariat of the Moldovan Parliament, aimed to improve their professional training”, said Adrian Fetescu. According to Gheorghe Barbu, Secretary of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, the agreement has no deadline, although it was thought only for this year. After the plan of actions is implemented, a further cooperation program may be agreed. “We’re not imposing anything by sharing experience with the Secretariat of the Moldovan Parliament. We only hope this will help you avoid some of the difficulties we have encountered. We had a lot of work to do in Romania”, said Gheorghe Barbu. Before the plan of actions, an Agreement of bilateral cooperation was signed by the two institutions in July, 2010. Moldova has similar agreements with Latvia.
