Romanian golden voices in Chisinau

One of the most famous operas in the world, La Traviata, will be staged at the National Opera House on March 2, Info-Prim Neo reports. This is the first of the three performances with which the National Opera House resumes participation in the international music festival “Martisor” after an eight-year-pause. La Traviata brings famous Romanian singers to Chisinau. Among them are soprano Cristina Simionescu, tenor Marius Manea and baritone Vitalie Dumitru-Malai. “I had been to Chisinau 15 years ago as part of a project for the youth. Now Moldova's capital looks different,” Romania's golden opera voice Cristina Simionescu told a news conference. “La Traviata was produced by three Romanian lyrical theaters – those working in Bucharest, Brasov and Iasi,” said Valeria Seican, director of the National Opera House in Chisinau. The orchestra will be conducted by well-known Romanian conductor Dorel Munteanu. A florilegium of arias by Russian and national composers will be shown at the National Opera House on March 4, while Cristina and Alexei Terentiev will perform in the ballet 'The Beauty in the Sleeping Forest' on March 9.
