Romanian Prime Minister arrives in Chisinau

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta arrived in Chisinau. The official accompanied by his the rest of the Romanian delegation went to the Government buiding, where Moldovan PM Vlad Filat met them. They went inside without making any press statements, Info-Prim Neo reports. However, the Romanian head of government was met by a group of protesters as well. “I regret that while the entire Europe doesn’t recognize him, Moldova welcomes him as a great Prime Minister with all the ceremony and all the leaders in Chisinau will meet with him”, declared protester Vasile Costiuc, leader of the Democracy at Home Party. Leonid Gorceag, representative of the Antimafie Movement, explained that he opposed the Romanian Prime Minister’s visit in Chisinau as he opposed anyone else who wanted to come into power through undemocratic methods. The Romanian head of government will later meet with Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti, Speaker Marian Lupu and Liberal Party leader Mihai Ghimpu. This is Victor Ponta’s first official visit to Moldova since his appointment as Prime Minister.
