"Tuesday's actions coordinated by state institutions regarding the Șor Political Party MPs are nothing but a "political inquisition" and a direct attack against the parliamentary group and against the entire party". The statement was made by Șor Party MP, Denis Ulanov, at a press briefing, held before the Parliament meeting on Thursday, September 19.

"This is political inquisition, which aims to paralyze the activity of the party. As soon as the Șor Party registered its candidates in the Orhei district, followed the lifting of immunity, then the detention of Marina Tauber and Regina Apostolova”, claimed Denis Ulanov, who is the legal counsel of the party leader, Ilan Șor. According to Ulanov, considering the circumstances, Marina Tauber and Regina Apostolova must be considered political prisoners.

Denis Ulanov argues that "the interim prosecutor has called for the waiver of immunity of the two MPs at the direct command of President Igor Dodon, who resounded from the central rostrum of Parliament".

The MP invoked the occurrence of alleged violations by law enforcement agencies during the detention of MPs Marina Tauber and Regina Apostolova. “Two police convoys followed us, then blocked the movement of our cars. As a result of this "special operation", a national road was blocked by prosecutors, operative agents and special forces armed to the teeth", said Denis Ulanov.

Earlier this week, the Legal Committee for appointments and immunities ruled to lift the immunity of Șor Party MPs Marina Tauber and Regina Apostolova. At a Parliament session held on Thursday, September 19, the General Prosecutor's Office called for the waiver of parliamentary immunity of Petru Jardan, Șor MP.

Previously, the president of the Șor Political Party, Ilan Șor, had his immunity lifted and is now wanted and at large.
