Sanctions on poaching to be increased
Premier Vlad Filat asked the Ministry of Environment to elaborate amendments to the current legislation, such that it would facilitate the fight against poaching. The Prime Minister that what he had personally seen, on Saturday, on the Nistru river is unacceptable, and may have grave consequences for these rivers’ ecosystems, reports Info-Prim Neo.
The Prime Minister asked the relevant institutions to collaborate among themselves, not compete with each other. Common actions are necessary for catching the poachers. In his opinion, a joint Nistru patrol, with the authorities from the left bank, would be a good idea.
Until the amendments become effective, Vlad Filat requested fishing with nets to be banned. Additionally, in the context of preserving the national patrimony, the Premier requested an evaluation of the Forest fund, and of rented forest surfaces.
