The Liberal Party’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and his Communist opponent Igor Dodon pretend to be struggling with each other and play with the people’s emotions, considers the Social Democratic Party’s candidate for mayor general of Chisinau Sergiu Coropceanu. The candidate said that neither Dorin Chirtoaca nor Igor Dodon deserve being elected mayors, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Igor Dodon caused considerable damage to the municipality. He is directly responsible for the destruction of the Circus, the National Stadium, the National Youth Center, the National Hotel and many others. Dorin Chirtoaca, if he really loved the city, should have demanded that these facilities be transferred to the City Hall. But he preferred to keep silent and leave the impression that he did not know about these wrongdoings,” Sergiu Coropceanu said in front of the Chisinau City Hall. He also said that he did not hesitate to criticize the previous municipal councilors of the Liberal Party and the Communist Party as they do not have morality. According to the politician, the Communist councilors focused on the protection of their own businesses, migrated from one party to another and formed coalitions with the PL and PLDM only in order to preserve their influence on certain financial flows. “The Liberal and Liberal-Democratic councilors were also indifferent to the problems faced by the ordinary people. They continued the wrongdoings initiated by the Communists and held nobody accountable, developing the corrupt system in the City Hall,” said the candidate. Sergiu Coropceanu, together with his team of councilors, promises to reconstruct the roads, ensure security on the streets, reform the municipal police, create workplaces by setting up a Free Economic Area, and transform Chisinau into a city that provides services for European and CIS companies. June 3 is the last day when the election runners can campaign before the elections.
