The simple electronic signature is to be introduced in contravention procedures. Thus, the time and resources required for administrative procedures will be significantly reduced by eliminating the need for physical documents and manual signature. The Cabinet approved a draft amendment to the Contravention Code, which regulates the documentation, examination and settlement of contraventions in electronic format, introducing the concept of simple electronic signature, IPN reports.
Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Eros said that the initiative aims to facilitate the presentation of evidence in the contravention proceedings by implementing prompt and accessible electronic methods, contributing to the alignment of procedural activities with modern digitization standards.
“The essence of the bill consists in the regulation of the particularities of documentation, examination and resolution of contraventions, including in electronic format, with the implementation of the concept of simple electronic signature reproduced in an electronic framework that allows for hand signing and scanning of the image in a file or inscription of the holographic signature in an application that permits its application on documents of the same format,” said the minister.
According to him, currently it takes an average of 15-20 minutes to prepare a contravention report. After the entry into force of the proposed changes, the time will be reduced to 2 minutes.
